Pamporovo resort is established ski destination with history of over 85 years. It is located in the central part of the Rhodopes at 1650m MASL, at the foot of the Snezhanka peak. Pamporovo is situated about 15km from the town of Smolyan, about 30km from the city of Chepelare and about 90km from the town of Plovdiv. The climate in the region is sub-Mediterranean, defined by mild climate, mild winter and over 240 sunny day during the year. The average annual temperature in the resort is 5.5 °C.
Almost all ski slopes start from Snezhanka peak (1926m.), and their altitude varies from 1926m. to 1400m. The ski season starts at the beginning of December and lasts until the end of April. During the winter the snow cover reaches over 2m.
